in PORTUGAL you can use white or amber turn signals and no one will put a problem using lateral lights...

Saabs are not very known in PORTUGAL, So... it looks original... it is original...

About your fuel average... the problem could be in your labda sensor... but i think that the real problem was you :P :P

I can show you a lot of pictures of my car doing 6...7...8 l/100...

more that 1000 kms with 45€ :P (gpl offcourse...) (see youy meeting photos in "Encontros Já Realizados")

Saabs, for the power they have... they are very ecnomical.

You probably have a 2.0 ecopower TesZero. I had a non-turbo 2.3
Best I managed was 11.1 litres / 100 kms on a trip to England
And it certainly wasn't my right foot that was the problem.
The short distances (city traffic)I drove were probably the main cause
Here in The Netherlands the chances to get caught for speeding are VERY HIGH and the fines are expensive.
I prefer to do something else with my money than to support a caixa do estado.
I am a calm driver (that doesn't mean I drive like an 80 year old)

Mas há uma lista no forum com os especialistas do SAAB? Não pode achar.

I am a very calm driver too...

everyone here get funny of me because i drive everytime at 100 km/h....

Allways saying "when you arrive there, the food is cold allready, bla, bla, bla" lololol

But... if you had a non-turbo Saab...

i am sorry... but you dont know what is a saab :P :P (funny comment, offcourse)

Turbo cars are very mutch economics than non-turbo cars...

I have:

b202 - saab 9000 airflow - 1988 - 300 hp - 6.1 l/100 (Porto - Lisboa) at 100 km/h (8.5 at city)
b234r - Saab 9000 aero- 1994 - 240 hp - 6.6 l/100 (9.0 at city)
b208 - Saab 9-3 aero cabrio - 210 hp - 2004 - 7.3 (porto - chaves) - 9.0 at city

The less economic drive i made was 500 km allways at 220.... 240 km/h (very rush time) and i spend 60 liters on it... one fuel tank...
so.... 500 km with 60 liters... is 12 l/100 allways driving faster than 200 km/h... i think is not too mutch...

:)

That is my experience :)

In the midle of this I saw something that catch my eyes

Hi
The truth is only one, the best part of PORTUGAL to live is in the North:

Best landscapes

Best food

Best hospital - Coímbra "Hospitais da Universidade de Coímbra" (I also do a heart surgery and had to get myself an artificial mitral valve) I have to take warfarin which prevents me from getting too far away from a good hospital, because I have to do INR control, to have a good level of anticoagulation blood

The North has the best of everything, even the most beautiful girls

Best city to live is my town: - Guimarães - Cidade Berço ;) ;)

Coimbra is not in the North, its in the center of PORTUGAL :D

The best place to live in PORTUGAL for you is where your special needs are satisfied, that's my opinion.

I know where Coimbra is  :)
The first time I went to PORTUGAL I landed in Porto by plane. And the metro line to Sào Bento was still under construction then.
I spoke and understood a lot less Portuguese than I do now.
My vocabulary existed of "não", "sim", "obrigado","bom dia", "boa tarde" and "boa noite". You don't get far with that  ::)
I needed to get to Fundão by train. Unfortunately from Porto there wasn't a direct line, this made me end up in the wrong train thanks to my poor Portuguese and I discovered that in Coimbra. Well actually o condutor did C:-)
Apparently I did something wrong in Encontramento. And I had to pay extra to get back on the correct train. >:(
The people at the stations don't speak English, fortunately most condutores did.
It's significant. Why do the bilheteiro(a)s at the stations not speak English, but the condutores no comboio do?
Good thing being on the wrong train is that I had beautiful views from the train and saw the half of PORTUGAL in one day. Lol

As my Belgian friends have their house in Castelo Novo and the best hospitals seem to be in Coimbra and Porto I decided that I will go live in the vicinity of Coimbra. As you might know they speak Dutch in the Flemmish part of Belgium. In case of emergency it's always nice to have friends nearby that speak your own language. Yes I know it's still a few hours from/to Castelo Novo. But it's acceptable.
I bought my Saabs in the north of The Netherlands (360 kms single trip), because they are easily 1000 euros cheaper than in my area. A train ticket (return-day) cost about 60 euros first class and 40 euros second class. It's worth the travel.

do as you like, in PORTUGAL, all places are good to live, but if you have friends in Castelo Novo who speakes your language, than, it´s the better place to live, and if the distance to Coimbra is not an issue, even better.....
In my view the best place to live is Campo de Ourique in Lisbon O0

What happend with you... happen allways with everyone who travels in trains or another public transport :P

its happening all the time with me, now i rent allways a car :P

Here in PORTUGAL allmost all young people speaks english.
not like in poland, for example, i have a lot comunication problems there, my best friend is my gps :P

When you came here and you finf yourself in a situation like this... call someone "young" and tell him / her to translate what you need.

In my opinion north people are very much friendly / helper than center / south. My opinion only :P

@ Castelar I am a bit late but obrigado para o (a?) informação, you sent lately

Now I have another question. And has nothing to do with Saab
I already asked it on one of the Dutch PORTUGAL forums, mas não recebo uma resposta.

Here in the Netherlands if you want to see which telecom provider delivers in your area, you can just enter your postcode on a comparision site and you'll get all the ones available for your postcode.

I have been looking for something similar in PORTUGAL, but I can't find one.
Here in the Netherlands I have a complete package that contains internet (20MB/s) + fixed telephone line + TV

I used to have cable (But the cable company has a monopoly in my province, they're expensive, their employees are rude and their service sucks) so I kicked them out  :>S
Now everything comes in via my phone line (VDSL) and I am satisfied. Internet bit slower than cable, but I can live with it.

So I was actually looking for providers in the Coimbra region. I actually want the same as I have now internet + fixed phone line + TV  And maybe mobile, too
But if I then I look in Google Street View on locations there might be a house I like I see everywhere satellite dishes on the roof  :-[

Second why do advertizers hardly ever provide the address of the house for rent/for sale (then I can have a look in Google Street View)
Privacy would be a bit silly if you want to sell/let and you don't say where it is and locals will recognize it anyway

BTW are there any better sites than olx.pt to find houses (lettings)? Preferrably with addresses mentioned. ;)

Hello, about telecom providers, if you are in a big city, normally you have all of them.

The biggests are (internet, tv, telephone, cellphone with 200 mb internet):
Meo   Para visualizar hiperligações por favor faça LogIn
Zon -   Para visualizar hiperligações por favor faça LogIn

then:
Optimus (orange) - fibra.clix.pt
Vodafone -www.vodafone.pt/main/Particulares/tv-net-voz/campanhas.htm‎ (i think is the one that have best prices, but it is not everywere, you ca check it here:   Para visualizar hiperligações por favor faça LogIn)

I think those are the bests ones, i have Meo at 2 homes.
All those have fiber connection with 100 mb´s.

Not at all sempre ao dispor.

Now everything comes in via my phone line (VDSL) and I am satisfied. Internet bit slower than cable, but I can live with it.

I have the TV cabo ZON and I am satisfied.
Tv cabo ZON is the advantage of having more than a television using cable and each view a different channel.
And provides TV, Internet Connection, Telephone with free calls and Cellphone

Second why do advertizers hardly ever provide the address of the house for rent/for sale (then I can have a look in Google Street View)

Privacy would be a bit silly if you want to sell/let and you don't say where it is and locals will recognize it anyway

Não tenho muito a dizer. Meus planos de emigrar ainda são os planos.
Preciso muito  dinheiro para essa  >:(
E um novo Saab a segunda, terca mão também.
Obrigado para a interesse. (The Dutch word for interesse is interesse, maybe Portuguese isn't that difficult at all, lol)

Welcome......
You will really fall in love with this country, driving from the south to the north you take aprox. 6-6.5 hours. And from there is what you like the most.
The south (algarve) is well known for the beaches and tourism, as you leave algarve you will enter in Alentejo ( between lisbon and Algarve) , that region is well known for the wines and some monuments like Evora , beja and Aviz , known for the Knights, great place to go.
In Lisbon , capital of the country , you will have a lots monuments , churches , gardens and museums. And beautifull for their natural light. When you start to drive north of Lisbon you have a place called Aveiro , knowed by the seafood , the river (ria de aveiro) and for their unique way to decorate the boats.
If you like snow , the Star mountain, is a good place to go between January and May.
And then you have the North of the country........that you can skip it! ;D ;D ;D
Joking  ;D I belive that my friends from the North will  :)| at this time.
The North is wonderfull for the landscapes , lot's of green , great hospitality , people very friendly. So as you see you have pleanty of choice, is up to you.
About the ISV , you are true , it's  :|@ :|| Just an example i was trying to buy a SAAB 900 turbo coupe, latest version from a friend of mine that was american. He would sold me the car for 1000 Euros and just to pass to Portuguese plates i had to pay ISV if the car was new.....around 8000 Euros. What you need let us know.
Best regards......
